USB Printer detection and PortBefore connecting a printer, make a list of the existing USB ports in the list. You do not want to use a port for another device or printer. If its a USB printer and you did not install to the right USB port you picked LPT1 or XPS, etc then it wont print. If it wont print try power offon the printer to make Windoze try to detect the port. Or reboot with the printer on and connected. You should see a message about it being detected. If it wont print installed to wrongnon USB port, you may have to right click the printer in the control panel and select Printer properties. NOT Properties and not Printing preferences. Go to the Ports tab and pick the correct. USB which wasnt there before the printer was connected. Go back to the General tab and try printing a test page.
